Q: - Can I connect a Solar Generator directly to my home? Transfer switch?

A: - The answer to this is yes. You can connect your solar generator to your home via a transfer switch, but it's going to be limited. Solar Generators for the most part are exclusively 120V output units, which means that you wont be able to run more power hungry appliances like the dryer or your stove.

You can use a transfer switch to power specific circuits that you want to run in your home. Most people choose to run their fridge, freezer, wifi etc in a grid down or power outage type of situation.

With a transfer switch, you get an electrician to come install it and then you can connect your solar generator to home circuit via the switch.

It's important to note that you will be limited to the output of your generators inverter, so regardless of what circuits you put on the transfer switch, you will only ever be able to output what the inverter is capable of.
